Friendship

Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.
C. S. Lewis

The blessing of freindship is something that has been on my mind for quite a while now!
A few weeks ago I got to spend a Sat. morning at Starbucks, visiting with a dear friend .  It was a great morning, we talked about our joys and struggles as a mom, wife, woman and just life in general. Before we knew it, we had been there for about 3 hours? Really, we could talk that long?   I left that morning feeling encouraged, it is a blessing to have a friendship where we can open up, be honest and even vulnerable about ourselves.

The last five years of my life have probably been the most challenging for various reasons. I think of the dear friends that I have called at my times of despair! They have  prayed , encouraged, helped and  imparted their wisdom. All of the above I am forever grateful~

There are a group of ladies that I meet to do Bible study with once a week.  I have really come to love these ladies like sisters, we laugh & cry and share in each others joys and struggles. Several months ago I went through something personal that was very difficult, it left me feeling very heart broken and sad. I have to say that without these ladies in my life at this present time I am not sure how I would have got through that time. When your going through difficult times, it can often be lonely and isolating, but with friends it helps to know someone is there cheering you on and is available if you need help. This group of woman was there for me when I REALLY needed prayer and they continue to be there for me as I share my heart with them.

Feeling very thankful for the blessing of friends today :)
